Who we are

The Zeph Omweno Foundation (“ZOF”, “we”, “us”) is a community-driven nonprofit organisation working in education and community empowerment in Kenya. This policy applies to www.zephomwenofoundation.org. For any privacy question, contact us at info@zephomwenofoundation.org.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us:

• Contact & enquiry forms — your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your message.
• Volunteer & partnership applications — your name, email, phone, organisation (if any), areas of interest, and anything you write in the application.
• Newsletter sign-up — your email address.
• Live chat — if you start a chat, the messages you send and any contact details you provide in that conversation.

We do not collect payment card details on this website. We do not knowingly collect information from children without the involvement of a parent, guardian, or school.

How we use your information

• To respond to your message, enquiry, or application;
• To send you the updates and stories you asked for when you subscribed to our newsletter;
• To coordinate volunteering, partnerships, and programme activities;
• To keep basic records of our supporters and the people we work with, and to meet our legal and reporting obligations as a registered nonprofit.

We rely on your consent (which you can withdraw at any time) and on our legitimate interest in running the Foundation and communicating with the people who contact us.

Service providers we share data with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site. They process your data only on our instructions:

• Resend — delivers the emails generated by our forms and newsletter.
• tawk.to — powers the live chat widget.
• Our hosting & content delivery provider — serves the website and keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.

We never sell your personal information or share it for third-party advertising.

Cookies

The website itself does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The live chat widget may set cookies that are necessary for it to function (for example, to keep your chat session going). You can block cookies in your browser settings; the rest of the site will still work.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and application records for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in each email or by emailing us. To make a request, contact info@zephomwenofoundation.org. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
